TAP AT THE MAC
TAP AT THE MAC
Tactical Athletic Performace (TAP)
Call of Duty, Call for Life.
Our mission at Tactical Athletic Performance (TAP) is to provide functional fitness challenges to raise money for organizations, families, and individuals in need. The challenges are designed as team events to test both the team and the individual athlete. The common themes at our events are:
1
2
3
A willingness to learn, sometimes through failure.
The drive to work hard and overcome the current self to change.
A realization of the importance of a life well lived in contrast to a life wasted.
At TAP events, we focus on developing a sense of spirit and appreciation for how the event environment relates to life. We understand that the person or persons we are fighting for in each event are sometimes in a life or death situation and that WE are fighting with them, together as a team, as a community, and as a family.
TAP VALUES
  • SERVICE. Service to others above all else. Service.
  •  INTEGRITAS. You are what you do and how you live your life. Integrity.
  •  WORK ETHICAM. The path to success is punctuated by hard work and the reconstruction of self. Work Ethic.
  •  SPIRITUS. The development of a contagious desire to better one's self, teammates, and community. Spirit.
  •  APARTE. Discovering one's self, talents, weaknesses, and intentions, and learning to adapt and become relevant in the face of any challenge. Relevance and adaptation.
TAP PHILOSOPHY
The outcomes found in tactical performance, sports competition, and combat are decided largely by more than just physical fitness. One's life experience, their mental and emotional preparation, and the diversity within their functional fitness training is what wins the individual event and help individuals work with a team. Superior training in all modalities is a determining factor to success, but really, the and individual’s spirit and understanding of where they are in relationship to the challenge is the most powerful force on the field.
We live in a society that is very much influenced by comfort. Many feel entitled to success, in life and physical performance, without working hard or understanding the power they have as individuals or with a team.

A typical gym experience offers the idea of what many in society think it means to be physically prepared - isolated cardiovascular work or weight resistance training. However, this is not how any athlete should prepare for physical performance or the transference of that training environment to life. There must be relevance from the training environment to life and modern fitness is too often defined by appearance rather than work capacity and functional performance.
Training environments which embrace appearance over performance will not produce superior physical performance and will not transfer what is earned in the training environment to life. At TAP we strongly believe that nothing of value can be learned by simply conducting daily workouts. The relevance of any workout must be transferable to an individual’s performance on the field or in life. The value extracted at TAP is realized when the athlete commits all their resources - physical, mental, emotional – and, most importantly, their development of spirit to individual or team-based events. In this environment the athlete learns and develops as a human being .
